Make the remaining work clear
If a renovation has stopped partway through, a useful first step is showing what is finished and what remains. Send room photos, a short description of the incomplete work and any decisions already made about surfaces and finishes.

Look at the surface as well as the paint
A freshly painted room still depends on the condition of the walls and ceilings beneath it. Point out patches, cracks, unfinished joints and areas where new drywall meets existing surfaces. Ask which preparation and finishing work belongs in the quote.
Tell us what happens next
Explain whether the space is occupied, whether other trades need access and when you would like the work completed. Photos and approximate dimensions help start the discussion; they do not replace agreement on the actual job.
